Stamped Concrete FAQ

Why do people choose stamped concrete?

Decorative stamped concrete is appealing for a variety of reasons. First, it is a more affordable alternative to pavers and natural stone, especially when it comes to patios, driveways, walkways and pool decks. It requires a lot less maintenance than natural stone because it has no joints where weeds have the potential to grow.

How long will my stamped concrete last for?

Stamped concrete is extremely durable and when properly installed and maintained, it will last for decades.

What are the most popular colors and patterns being used today?

Natural stone patterns, such as slate and fieldstone are common, along with brick and cobblestone. The general consensus when it comes to the appearance of stamped concrete is that it should evoke the feel of a natural material.

Does stamped concrete look unnatural?

Stamped concrete, in fact, looks very realistic. The molds used to create the patterns are typically made from the actual materials that they are intended to replicate. Color is also manipulated in order to create the slight variation in color that is found in real stone.

Can my stamped concrete crack?

Stamped concrete is currently one of the most durable and long-lasting paving materials available. Luckily, when it is installed correctly, it is highly resistant to cracking.

Will the color fade?

Efflorescence, or a surface crystaline deposit, the elements, dirt and foot/vehicle traffic will eventually take their toll on your stamped concrete. You can, however, minimize color change by periodically cleaning and resealing the concrete. Even if the color has faded due to lack of proper maintenance, it can often be restored to its former beauty.
