Getting ready for pool season
May has been a tease — giving us 80 degree weather and a taste for summer, but before long, summer will be officially here. That means pool season — which is why May is the perfect time to get your pool ready.
But how do you know if your in-ground pool needs any maintenance or repair?
- Cracks: Cracks will happen in concrete, signaling that there are problems below your concrete, but crack filing and concrete leveling will prolong the life of your pool so you can be swimming for years.
- Excessive slope: Pools are built with a slope, but if you feel like you’re running down a hill when you step into your pool, that means the concrete’s starting to settle and in need of repair.
- Trip hazards: As concrete develop cracks, unleveled concrete can become trip hazards. Trip hazards can also form between different pieces of concrete. As you’re getting ready for pool season, make sure there’s no trip hazards on your pool deck. It’s already slippery enough without uneven concrete getting in the way!
