Concrete vs. asphalt driveways
Concrete driveways and asphalt driveways are the 2 most common types of driveways so let’s compare them:
- Cost: Concrete driveways tend to be anywhere between 45-50% more expensive than asphalt driveways.
- Visual appeals: Concrete driveways have more variety as to what you want your driveway to look like. You can stain or stamp concrete to get different colors and textures. Asphalt really only comes in dark gray to black colors.
- Repairs: Asphalt is easier to repair than concrete, but is more frequent with problems than concrete. Asphalt tends to deteriorate faster than concrete due to its softer consistency.
There is no “better option” between concrete and asphalt. If you’re choosing between asphalt and concrete, your choice is dependent upon where you live and what you’re looking for in a driveway.
